==== 1. Thought for the Week ====

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu.

Allah (SWT) says:

"And they say: ‘The Most Gracious (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children).’ Indeed you have brought forth (said) a most terrible, evil thing. Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins, that they ascribe a son (or offspring) to the Most Gracious. But it is not befitting (the Majesty) of the Most Gracious (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring). There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Gracious as a slave." Marium (19:88-93)

"The Messiah (‘Issa) bin Marium, was no more than a Messenger, many who were Messengers have passed away before him. His mother (Mary) was a Sidiqah (believed in Words of Allah). Both of them used to eat food (as all other human beings). Look how We make the Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, examples) clear to them; yet look how they are deluded away (from the truth)." Al-Ma’idah (5:75)

==== 3. UPDATE: Film & Pizza Night ====

The CMCS organised a "Film & Pizza" night at the Abu Bakr Mosque on Satuday
20th December. The film was a debate between Zakir Naik and William Campbell
entitled "The Bible & the Qur'an in Light of Science".

William Campbell was no match for Zakir Naik's charismatic and convincing
oratory. A humble Dr. Naik attributed this success to Allah, the Most High.
During the rebuttal and subsequent question and answer sessions, Dr.
Campbell repeatedly confessed that he was in trouble and that he had no
answers to some questions that he was asked. On the other hand, Dr. Naik's
convincing answers to each and every question that was posed to him was
widely appreciated.

On a humorous note, Dr. Naik challenged Dr. Campbell to prove himself a true
Christian by just reading the phrase 'one hundred rupees' in the seventeen
official languages of India as is depicted on a hundred rupee note of India
- in this context, Dr. Naik referred to the claim of the Bible (Mark chapter
16) that true Christians can speak in new foreign languages.

Dr. Naik presented him with a copy of his newly released book, 'The Qur'an
and Modern Science - Compatible or Incompatible?'

The debate was projected on a big screen and TV but due to problems with
projector most of the debate was viewed on the 28 inch TV. The CMCS would
like to apologise for the technical problems experienced and would like to
inform brothers and sisters that we are currently replacing the projector
with a **NEW** one insha'Allah.

The brothers who watched the debate said that it was "excellent" and "very
entertaining" and the pizzas were great too!

=== 4. Want a copy of the Debate "The Bible & the Qur'an in Light of Science" ===

Are you interested in a copy of the Debate "The Bible & the Qur'an in Light of
Science"?

The CMCS is planning to make the entire debate between Zakir Naik and
William Campbell available on CD so that you can view it on your PC. That's
over 4 hours of video! The price will be about £2 per CD and availability
will depend on "customer demand". If you are interested please contact
webmaster@cambridgemuslims.info

All profits will go towards paying the for the cost of the Pizza at the
"Film & Pizza Night" held on the 20th of December insha Allah.
