What are the Aims and Objectives of the Cambridge Muslims ONLINE?

The Cambridge Muslims ONLINE shall follow the Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (saw) and the companions of the Prophet (saw) according to the interpretation and accepted views of the Ahle Sunnah Wa Jamaah, and as expounded by the four recognised Madhaahabs: Hanafi, Shafi, Malik and Hambali and that which has consensus (ijma’a) by the majority of the Ulema.

1. To Good And Forbid Wrong

And let there be arising from you a nation inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful. Surah Al-Imran. 3:104

2. Discourage Innovation

To protect the Islamic deen (religion, way of life) from all repugnant innovations.

3. Protect the Sunnah

To protect, preserve and promote the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (saw) and to bring the Islamic awareness to the Muslim community.

4. Education and Da’wah

To provide continuous Islamic education, to develop educational advancement for all Muslims and non-Muslims and to promote a da’wah programme.

5. To Identify and Train Personnel

To identify and help train personnel of our community in all aspect of necessary services.

6. Major Life Events for Muslims

Make available Islamic services regarding major life events for Muslims. To provide support, advice and help in matters relating to Birth, Marriages, Death, Illness, Elderly, Orphans, and Counselling in all aspects.

7. Bereavement

To establish a bereavement service, by appointing a bereavement committee to oversee funeral arrangements. To establish funeral fund to be initiated with separate bank account as CMCS Funeral Fund. The amount of contributions per family per month to be decided and approved by the Shura committee.

8. Unity

To develop unity amongst the Muslim Community. A group becomes solid only when the hearts of Muslims are mutually joined together in Brotherhood and Sisterhood.

9. Co-operation

To co-operate with other institutions of Ahle Sunnah Wa Jamaah locally, nationally or Internationally, having similar aims and objectives.

10. Lectures

To engage the services of any suitable person/s who follows the Qur’an and the Sunnah of  Prophet (S) for the purpose of delivering lectures, subject to the approval of Ameer.

11. Fatawa

If a fatawa is required, the Ameer shall seek advice from a recognised Muslim Jurist.

12. Publication

To print and publish Islamic literature, leaflets and newsletters that the community service may deem necessary.

13. Announcement of Community Events

To ensure the proper announcement and advertisement for the activities in good time. To organise social events, to strengthen community relations and gauge community interest of particular activities.

14. Fund Raising And Appeal Funding

New ways of fund raising for charitable activity, it could be a special project or part of the on going programme for internal funding. If it is an appeal fund raising it should be clearly expressed for which project. 15. Enterprise

To obtain a building for use as an Islamic Centre, to establish congregational prayers and to establish Islamic teaching. See CC20 - Charities and Fund-raising which provides guidance and explains the statutory controls regulating fund-raising.
